BJP-JJP government is responsible for the martyrdom of 750 farmers-farm workers - Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Sirsa, 24 December. Former Chief Minister of Haryana and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, State Congress president Udaibhan and MP Deepender Hooda paid tribute to 750 farmers and farm workers and paid their respects by observing 2 minutes of silence. Hooda said the sacrifice of the farmers would not go in vain.
Hooda, who was elated after seeing the entire HUDA ground packed, said that the mammoth size of the rally indicates that the martyrdom of the farmers and farm workers, who sacrificed their lives in the farmers' movement, will not go in vain. He said that the BJP-JJP government is completely responsible for the martyrdom of 750 farmers and farm workers in the farmers' movement.
“This government lathicharged the farmers, showered them with cold water in winter and put nails on the roads, but they do not know that no one can suppress the voice of the farmer. His voice has power. This government had brought such laws which would have ruined the farmers, but the farmers saved the grains from going into the coffers of the rich. What happened to agreement that was made between the farmers and the government, in which it was said that MSP would be guaranteed,” he questioned.
On the demand of the farmers, the Leader of Opposition announced that just one government job was given to the families of the martyred farmers during the farm agitation, as was done during the Kandela incident, and added that farmers and farm workers would be given the martyr status. “When the Congress government is formed in the state, a National Farmers Movement Memorial will be built in Haryana in the memory of 750 farmers and farm workers,” he said and added that the Congress Party has resolved to guarantee farmers freedom from debt and MSP.
There was no space left to even set foot in the HUDA ground during the Kisaan-Majdoor Jan Akrosh Rally in Sirsa today as all the roads leading to the venue remained blocked. The whole of Sirsa was painted in Congress colours and more people were present outside on the streets, than were present in the HUDA ground.
People had started reaching the meeting place since morning, dancing to the beat of drums. Photos of martyred farmers and farm workers were displayed on the stage at the rally venue. During this, Bhupinder Singh Hooda was honored by presenting him a plough. State Congress President, former Union Minister, former speaker of Haryana Assembly, more than two dozen party MLAs, former ministers, former MLAs, MPs, former MPs, senior party leaders, Congress Seva Dal, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress in the Kisan Mazdoor Janakrosh rally. Leaders of all frontal organizations including NSUI and party workers were present in large numbers.
In his address, the former Chief Minister said the Congress government waived off farmers' electricity bills worth Rs 1600 crore, waived off loans worth Rs 2136 crore and reduced the interest on crop loans from 14 per cent to 0 per cent. “Plots of 100 square yards were given, scholarships were given to school children but the present government has stopped all the schemes. Backward Class Creamy Layer limit was reduced from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. Our government had recruited sanitation workers, watchmen and other employees, but they continue to be temporary,” he said.
“Today the whole of Haryana is frustrated and has given up on this government. Today Haryana is number 1 in unemployment, inflation, corruption, crime and drug addiction. The government has not done any good work, is only engaged in looting Haryana. This is a failed government and cannot do good to anyone. All the 36 communities of the state have made up their mind to get rid of the BJP-JJP government and form the Congress government,” he stated.
The Leader of Opposition said that when Congress government is formed in Haryana, it will give pension of Rs 6000 per month to the elderly. “When our government comes, we will give LPG cylinders to housewives for Rs 500. Every family will be given 300 units of electricity free of cost. We will re-implement 100 square yards free plot scheme. Sanitation workers, watchmen and others will be regularised. We will abolish Skill Employment Corporation, and will give people their rights by getting rid of the hassles of the portal,” he added.
For Sirsa, he announced that the Congress government will complete the excavation of Otu Lake and complete the canal work. “When our government comes, BT cotton farmers will be given BT-3 and BT-4,” he added.
State Congress President Ch. Udaibhan exposed the guarantees of the Prime Minister and said that doubling of farmers' income by 2022, implementation of Swaminathan Commission's recommendations, giving MSP to farmers by adding C-2 and 50 percent profit were guaranteed, but the people in power did not do anything. “They cheated the farmers and brought three black agricultural laws. When the farmers agitated, they were defamed and humiliated in various ways. But the farmers went launched a peaceful agitation and worked to subdue the government in 13 months” he stated.
“This government ended the movement by deceiving the farmers, but once again cheated them with some large businessmen. This government has betrayed the Army and the youth of the country by bringing the Agniveer scheme,” he added.
Talking about the achievements of the Hooda government, he said the Congress government led by Hooda ji worked for every section. “It established power plants across the state, laid a metro network, built 6 railway lines, 16 universities and medical colleges. This government completely ruined the economy of the state. This government is also cheating the people of the state in education and health. Efforts are being made to deprive the children of poor, Dalit and backward deprived communities from education,” he added.
He said there was a need to overthrow this government and said that Haryana has a debt of Rs 4 lakh crore, which means every child in the state is born with a loan of Rs 132,800 today. He asked people to be cautious of the INLD and JJP and uproot BJP by defeating B-teams of the BJP.
As soon as MP Deepender Hooda came on the stage to address the rally, the crowd present there welcomed him with loud slogans. On this, Deepender accepted his greeting by shaking his hand. On the appeal given by Deepender Hooda, the crowd present there kept silence and paid tribute to 750 farmers and farm workers.
Talking about how the Parliament refused to pass a condolence message to condole the martyrdom of 750 farmers, Deepender said people’s Parliament at the rally had done, what the Parliament of the country did not do. “The cruel arrogance of this government led to the sacrifice of 750 farmers. They have power, money power, system power, conspiracy power but we have the blessings and courage of the people,” he said and pledged to the people that in the coming time, the arrogance of this government will be broken by the power of people’s votes.
Deepender said during the time of Hooda government of Congress, before 2014, there was improvement in the growth rate and Haryana was number one in per capita income, per capita investment, respect of players, farmers' welfare, protecting farmers' interest, welfare schemes for the poor and mutual brotherhood in the country.
“Haryana was at number one throughout, but BJP and BJP-JJP government made Haryana number 1 in unemployment, inflation, drug addiction and crime. Today there is neither employment in the private sector, nor employment in the government sector. Permanent jobs are being turned into temporary employment through schemes like Skill Corporation or Agniveer. In government recruitments lists of Haryana, most of the youth from other states are being given place, while Haryana youth have been left out,” he said.
Giving an example of this, Deepender said that in SDO recruitment 78 out of 80 were selected from outside the state. “In SDO Electrical, 77 out of 99 were selected from outside, in the list of Assistant Professor Technical, 103 out of 156 were selected from outside and now recently, people from other states were recruited on 4 out of 7 posts in the SDOP list. In such a situation, where will the youth of Haryana go,” he questioned.
“It seems that 75 percent reservation in government jobs in Haryana is for the youth from outside the state and for this purpose, the BJP-JJP government has made a person from outside Haryana the chairman of HPSC. Deepender said this government, which is causing highest unemployment and inflation in the country, will have to go.
Deepender said that JJP betrayed voters who supported them. “The elders, farmers, farm workers and players of the state were also cheated. JJP took 5 hours to betray, but INLD did not even spend 5 minutes to betray, and supported BJP,” he said.
He reminded that INLD had 20 seats in 2014, but in the 2019 elections INLD came down from 20 to 1, because instead of playing the role of opposition for 5 years, INLD targeted Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the Congress party. “INLD supported BJP whenever and wherever the opportunity arose,” he said and warned the public that this time again an undisclosed agreement has been reached with BJP to break JJP's pact.
Chakravyuh will be created to prevent change in the state. In poetic style, he said farmers and farm workers were not defeated by the blows of the enemy, but were defeated by the traitors within.
He said that the agreement of the BJP-JJP government, formed on the foundation of corruption, was not an agreement to give Rs 5100 pension, but to close their corruption files and create scams by dividing departments. “Wherever liquor scam takes place in the country, its threads are linked to Haryana. Mining scam, land scam, scams were carried out one after the other,” he added.
Deepender said Chief Minister Khattar gives statements against him every day because he speaks strongly against the corruption of the government, against the injustice being done to farmers and farm workers, and stands with sportspersons when their daughters are being treated unfairly. “If this is considered to be my fault, then I am guilty, but I will continue to fight without fear and not stop,” he stated.
